Overview
Managers must either onboard or approve all Shiny users. This article is for users that are fully onboarded.
Existing Users
Follow these steps for users who are already active in Shiny.
Visit the website: app.stayshiny.co
Input your mobile phone number and select Submit
Shiny will send you a verification code via SMS / text
Input the code and login
Trouble Shooting
Clear your browser cache
You may have seen a message that you must clear your cache to get a new version of Shiny. The details may vary depending on your device and browser. Note that if you are using Shiny on a mobile web browser (especially on iOS), you may need to visit your device settings menu.
Chrome
Open Chrome
Click the More menu in the top right corner
Select More tools
Click Clear browsing data
Check the boxes next to "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data"
Click Clear data
Safari
Desktop
To clear the cache on Safari, open the Safari menu, go to "Preferences", then navigate to the "Privacy" tab, and click "Manage Website Data" - from there, you can choose to remove data from specific sites or "Remove All" to clear the entire cache
Mobile
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap Safari.
Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.
Edge
Open Microsoft Edge
Click the three dots in the top right corner
Select Settings
Click Privacy, search, and services
Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear
Select All time from the drop-down menu for Time range
Check the boxes for "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data"
Click Clear now
Close and reopen Edge
You can also clear the cache using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl, Shift, and Del.
Firefox
To clear the cache on Firefox, open the menu, go to "Settings" > "Privacy & Security", then under "Cookies and Site Data", click "Clear Data" and select the data you want to delete; this will clear your cache and other related data.
I'm not getting a text message!
Make sure your phone has service; get a colleague to send you a text message from their phone to verify.
Make sure your plan allows you to receive text messages
Check your phone settings. Your phone or your carrier may be blocking "A2P" messages ("Application to Person").
Send Shiny an email to [email protected] if you're still having issues.
